The Morris & Essex Line runs from Hoboken and New York Penn Station through Newark Broad Street, the Oranges, Summit, Chatham, Madison and Morristown to Dover, with diesel trains continuing to Hackettstown.
It is electrified as far as Dover, and its Midtown Direct trains reach New York Penn Station through the Kearny Connection and Secaucus Junction. Summit is where the Gladstone Branch splits off, and Newark Broad Street is the change point between Hoboken-bound and Manhattan-bound trains. Service west of Dover is diesel and infrequent.
