The Harlem Line runs north from Grand Central through Harlem-125th Street, the Bronx, White Plains and Mount Kisco to Southeast, then on to Wassaic in Dutchess County.
It is electrified to Southeast; the stretch beyond, through Patterson, Pawling, Dover Plains and Tenmile River to Wassaic, is diesel and is usually served by a shuttle connecting at Southeast. White Plains is the line's main mid-point station and the terminus for many trains. Between Grand Central and Mott Haven it shares tracks with the Hudson and New Haven Lines, so the inner stations see all three.
